Peter Sagan shows off his bike handling skills and sheer speed in this compilation of his 2014 season
It’s been a relatively quiet season for Peter Sagan, but his 2014 highlights video is worth a watch for his bike handling skills alone.
The Slovakian dominated the Tour de France green jersey competition once again, but was denied a Grand Tour stage win for the first time since 2011.
He was there and thereabouts in the Spring classics – second at Strade Bianche, third at Gent-Wevelgem and sixth at Paris-Roubaix – but he was a marked man throughout the season.
He’s still happy to show off his skills on both road and mountain bikes, often pulling wheelies up mountain inclines and tail-whip skids on the descents.
His antics in race situations are also pretty mesmerising, especially when he bunny-hops over a central reservation just before a roundabout to escape two fellow escapees.
With Sagan’s Cannondale team folding at the end of the 2014 season, the 24-year-old will race for the big-spending Tinkoff-Saxo team next year.
And as part of his integration into his new squad, Sagan recently joined team leader Alberto Contador and others in an ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro.
